The AUICK Associate Cities (AACs) are Chittagong (Bangladesh), Weihai (China), Chennai (India), Surabaya (Indonesia), Kuantan (Malaysia), Faisalabad (Pakistan), Olongapo (Philippines), Khon Kaen (Thailand), and Danang (Vietnam).

Chittagong, Chennai, Surabaya, Kuantan, Faisalabad, Olongapo, Khon Kaen, and Danang have dispatched their senior officials to our past training courses, through which we have developed our friendship into the AUICK Associate Cities Network.

With regard to Weihai, we had not invited any senior official to our past training courses before 2004.  We had been searching for a medium-sized city suitable for our activities in China, and we requested the UNFPA China Office to recommend a suitable medium-sized city. The UNFPA China Office then kindly requested that the National Population and Family Planning Commission (NPFPC) recommend a city. NPFPC recommended three candidate cities, including Weihai, for our suitable partner in China, and we chose Weihai because it is a port city like the City of Kobe.
