B. Organizational Structure

Executive Committee (EC)
- responsible for
making decisions on the management policies of AUICK
and its policies concerning studies and research by referring to advice
from the Domestic and International Advisory Committees or by
conducting its own deliberations. It comprises members nominated by the
Kobe City Government and UNFPA, and appointed by the Chairman of AUICK.

Domestic Advisory Committee
(DAC)
- designed to
provide auxiliary support and suggestions so as to help
obtain assistance or cooperation from Japan's Central Government and
other related domestic agencies. It is comprised of Japanese experts
and leaders of relevant fields nominated by the Kobe City Government
and UNFPA, and appointed by the Chairman of AUICK.

International Advisory
Committee (IAC)
- functions to
reflect and coordinate the
views of various Asian nations,
the intentions of UNFPA, and to offer general programme guidance. It
comprises three categories of members: 1) two members each from East,
Southeast and South Asia, who give representation to the three major
regional divisions. These members are academic experts in urban issues
or local government officials; 2) the UNFPA representative; and 3)
members nominated by the Executive Committee, then appointed officially
by the Chairman of AUICK.
