The Excel data sets included in this file are country level data for the nine AAC countries, plus data for Japan and the Republic of Korea, for comparative purposes.  The sets provide data on demographic, economic, social and environmental data for the period 1950 to 2030.  These data sets were compiled by Professor Gayl D, Ness of the AUICK International Advisory Committee (gaylness@umich.edu).  In addition to the basic country data, there are age-sex distributions for the year 2000 for all countries.  From these we calculated the primary and secondary age school populations for both boys and girls.  These were to be used for estimating city level school participation rates if city data were not available on the age sex distribution.
