AUICK Committee Meeting

Regular meeting of 23 June 2008

The AUICK Executive Committee held its first regular meeting of FY2008 at the meeting room of the AUICK Office on Monday, 23 June 2008. 

Following the opening remarks by Dr. Hirofumi Ando, President of AUICK, the Secretariat reported the achievements of FY2007, and presented a financial report for FY2007. Mr. Kyoji Ueda, Auditor of AUICK, reported that he had examined all financial reports and found them to be correct. The committee approved the expenses for the achievements and the financial reports of FY2007, but requested clarification of future financial contributions by Kobe City as well as UNFPA. 

Next, the Secretariat proposed plans to match the fiscal year of AUICK to that of UNFPA from FY2009, to solve the financial inconvenience; and to hold a meeting of the Executive Committee once every year, at which the achievements of the previous year and a budget proposal for the following year are to be deliberated.　The committee approved the proposals. 

The Secretariat then proposed the budget and work plan for FY2009, which starts on 1 April 2009 and ends on 31 December 2009. The committee approved the proposal. Accordingly, the next annual meeting of the committee will be held in June 2009, to deliberate on the achievements of 2008 and the budget proposal for 2010. 

Finally, the committee requested that the Secretariat strengthen public relations concerning AUICK’s activities, and inform the committee members of every article on AUICK’s activities reported in the media.
